    “多利”于199675日出生于英国罗斯林研究所。这是一件轰动世界的大事,因为“多利”是通过克隆而来的。科学家认为“多利”的诞生标志着生物技术新时代的来临。

     Dolly was born on July 5, 1996 at the Roslin Institute. This is a big event that has caused a sensation in the world, because Dolly was cloned. Scientists believe that the birth of Dolly marks the advent of a new era of biotechnology.

    “多利”的诞生不是一帆风顺的,而是经历了一个非常复杂的“复制”过程。其主要过程分为四步:

      The birth of Dolly was not plain sailing, but experienced a very complex process of "replication". The main process is divided into four steps

     一、从一只6岁芬兰白面母绵羊的乳腺中取出乳腺细胞,将其放入低浓度的营养培养液中,称之为供体细胞。

1Mammary gland cells were extracted from the mammary gland of a 6-year-old Finnish white faced ewe and put into a low concentration nutrient medium, called donor cells.

     二、从一只苏格兰黑面母绵羊的卵巢中取出未受精的卵细胞,将细胞核除去,留下一个无核的卵细胞,称之为受体细胞。

2Unfertilized oocytes were removed from the ovaries of a Scottish black faced ewe, and the nucleus was removed, leaving a seedless oocyte, called a recipient cell.

     三、将供体细胞的核取出,与受体细胞融合,形成胚胎细胞。

3The nucleus of donor cells was taken out and fused with recipient cells to form embryonic cells.

     四、将胚胎细胞转移到另一只苏格兰黑面母绵羊的子宫内,胚胎细胞进一步分化和发育,最后形成小绵羊“多利”。

4The embryo cells were transferred to the uterus of another Scotch black faced sheep, and the embryo cells further differentiated and developed, and finally formed the small sheep "Dolly".

     2003214日,“多利”因患严重的肺病而接受“安乐死”。科学

家认为,“多利”的死亡反映了当前克隆技术还存在着一定的缺陷。

     植物克隆技术能够使一片树叶变成一片树林!许多植物的一片叶、一个芽,甚至一个茎尖,直接接种在大田沙床上,只需要4~11天就可发育成再生的完整植株,长出发达的根系,每30~60天就可繁殖一代,并且不受季节的限制。

Plant cloning can turn a leaf into a forest! A leaf, a bud, or even a stem tip of many plants can be directly inoculated on the sand bed in the field. It only takes 4-11 days to develop into a complete regenerated plant and grow a developed root system. It can reproduce every 30-60 days and is not limited by the season.

经过人们10余年的研究与试验,这项技术现在已经发展成十分完整、成熟的技术了。
